Environmental Impact

The automotive industry and climate change

Header Separator

According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the transportation sector is responsible for about 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Broken or poorly maintained vehicles can emit higher levels of pollutants, contributing to this total. Additionally, a lack of regular maintenance can lead to decreased fuel efficiency, resulting in higher emissions. Studies have found that properly maintaining a vehicle can improve fuel efficiency by an average of 4%. This not only reduces emissions but also saves money on fuel costs. Additionally, recycling and properly disposing of vehicle parts and fluids can also help reduce the environmental impact of the automotive industry.

Going Green at Kakoullas Service Center: Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Kakoullas Service Center, we take great care in reducing our environmental footprint. We understand that the automotive industry can have a significant impact on the planet, and we are committed to doing our part in minimizing this impact. One of the ways we are doing this is by implementing recycling programs for all of the spare parts we use in our repairs. For example, we work with external partners to collect and recycle plastics, scrap metal, and oil filters.

Additionally, we ensure that all battery replacements are properly disposed of and recycled. Another important aspect of our environmental efforts is our move towards digitalization. By digitizing our services, we are able to reduce our reliance on paper. We will be able to hold all of our client’s car repair history electronically and send them reminders for future oil changes and scheduled maintenance via email or text, instead of using paper. This not only reduces our environmental impact but also makes it more convenient for our customers.

We are always looking for new ways to improve our environmental impact, and we are dedicated to being a leader in the automotive industry when it comes to sustainability. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the planet for future generations.
